Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan departed for Moscow to attend the upcoming opening ceremony of the monument to Islam Karimov, UzA reported.
The monument erected in the center of Moscow represents Islam Karimov on the background of Samarkand’s Registan Square.
The idea of its creation belongs to the famous British sculptor Paul Day. The sculpture embodies the character of a strong-willed politician, a wise statesman who cares about his people.
Opening of the square named after the First President of Uzbekistan and a monument to him in the hero-city of Moscow is a symbol of friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Russia that are strengthening at the new stage.
