Mitsubishi Corporation Explores New Investment Projects in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 7 October, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan between Deputy Minister Ilzat Kasimov and a delegation from the Japanese company Mitsubishi Corporation, led by CEO Juro Baba.
During the discussions, the parties addressed ways to accelerate the implementation of ongoing energy projects and develop new joint initiatives based on public-private partnership mechanisms.
Founded in 1954 and headquartered in Tokyo, Mitsubishi Corporation is one of Japan’s largest multinational companies. The conglomerate operates in diverse sectors, including energy, industry, engineering, chemicals, mining, as well as the production and trade of food and consumer goods.
In 2024, the company reported a net profit of US$6.9 billion, a capital stock of US$1.4 billion, and a workforce exceeding 62,000 employees.
Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further expanding cooperation and developing new investment projects in the energy and industrial sectors.
