Mirziyoyev Reviews Trigeneration Plant and Energy Infrastructure of New Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited energy facilities under construction in New Tashkent and reviewed the implementation of modern trigeneration technologies.
The trigeneration system makes it possible to supply the city with heating and cooling simultaneously, using half the energy consumed by traditional sources. Unlike conventional heating plants and cooling systems, where these processes operate separately, trigeneration integrates them into a single technological chain, improving energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
At the initial stage of the plant’s construction, capacity will be created to generate 75 megawatts for heating, 100 megawatts for cooling and 17 megawatts of electrical energy. In addition, New Tashkent’s first enclosed substation, with a capacity of 100 megawatts, will fully meet the city’s initial energy needs.
The project is being implemented under a public-private partnership with the participation of the Chinese company Haocheng Industry Group Limited. Enclosed substations offer several advantages: they fit harmoniously into the urban environment, produce twice less noise and require three times less space than traditional open-air substations, an important factor for the integrated development of New Tashkent.
During the visit, the President highlighted the technical capabilities of the facilities, their economic efficiency and strategic significance for the city, and issued recommendations to accelerate and ensure the high-quality implementation of the next stages of construction.
