Mirziyoyev Reviews Infrastructure and Digital Projects in New Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid a working visit to the territory of New Tashkent, where he inspected the progress of construction of key urban infrastructure facilities and the implementation of digital technologies in the construction sector.
The head of state began his visit by inspecting an underground parking facility and pedestrian passage. The project, with a total cost of US$100 million, covers 40,000 square metres and in its first stage will accommodate 200 cars and 30 motorcycles.
To ensure the convenience of residents, the site is designed with a four-sided pedestrian zone, automated parking systems, bicycle rental points and electric vehicle charging stations. Commissioning is scheduled for 2026. The President instructed officials to expand parking infrastructure and develop charging stations in line with the growing number of electric vehicles.
Special attention was given to the construction of administrative buildings. The new modular building of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, with an area of 5,751 square metres, will allow the central apparatus of the ministry and its subordinate organisations to be housed within a single complex.
Light structures, energy-efficient sandwich panels, an independent sewage system, and modern heating and ventilation solutions reduce operating costs and support future expansion. The building currently houses 550 employees.
Located within the complex is the Republican ICT Development Centre, where a range of platforms has been launched based on the national information system “Shaffof Qurilish”.
All socio-economic data of territories have been integrated into the “State Urban Planning Cadastre” geographic information system. Through the geoportal, three-dimensional digital models of settlements have been created, renovation and reconstruction zones defined, and a comprehensive analysis of territories carried out.
Digitalisation covers the drafting and public review of master plans, issuance of construction permits, and evaluation of construction and contracting organisations via the “Rating” platform.
Electronic systems have been integrated, including “Tender”, “Provision of Public Services in the Construction Sector”, “State Construction Oversight”, “Mening Uyim” (“My Home”), “Mening Hududim” (“My District”) and the district heating billing system.
The President underlined the importance of continuous learning and the adoption of information technologies for young specialists and the construction sector as a whole.
“Today, it is impossible to achieve serious results relying on yesterday’s knowledge. It is necessary to deepen the study of the exact sciences, above all information technology,” he stated.
