Mirziyoyev Meets DFC Chief to Discuss Projects and Opening of Tashkent Office

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 6 November, as part of his working visit to Washington, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Ben Black, CEO of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

DFC is the U.S. national development institution that mobilizes private capital to implement infrastructure and industrial projects in developing countries.

During the talks, both sides welcomed the intensification of high-level contacts and the steady expansion of trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. Several large-scale joint initiatives are under consideration in sectors including energy, critical minerals, finance, transportation, agriculture, and information technology.

Special attention was given to deepening practical collaboration. Specific steps were discussed to accelerate the creation of a joint investment platform to finance priority projects, support small businesses, and open a regional DFC office in Tashkent.

President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of DFC’s participation in implementing key infrastructure programs in Uzbekistan, including through public-private partnership mechanisms.
