Mirziyoyev Inspects Construction of “New Uzbekistan” University and National Library
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the progress of construction of the new campus of “New Uzbekistan” University and the National Library building in New Tashkent.
The creation of this modern educational complex is part of the state program aimed at developing strategic sectors of the economy based on scientific principles, expanding innovation, and training highly qualified personnel.
The university complex covers a total area of 50 hectares, with a project cost of 200 million US dollars. It is designed to accommodate 10,000 students and includes five faculties, a rectorate, a library with more than 1,000 seats, a museum, an exhibition hall, multimedia classrooms, a sports complex for 1,000 people, dormitories for 2,000 residents, a swimming pool, and dining facilities.
Construction is being carried out in three stages, with completion and commissioning scheduled for 2027.
Alongside the university, a National Library building is being constructed, covering more than 30,000 square meters on approximately 4 hectares. The library will be multifunctional, featuring modern storage facilities and electronic access to national and international databases. For visitors, there will be relaxation zones, sports areas, cafes, and specially equipped spaces for people with visual impairments.
The President emphasized the significance of these facilities as a model for other universities and educational centers in the country, highlighting their role in the intellectual development of the younger generation and in enhancing the nation’s economic potential.
Special attention is being paid to the integration of modern information technologies and international standards into the educational process.
