Mirziyoyev Discusses Expansion of Japanese Investment Projects in Uzbekistan with JOGMEC and ITOCHU
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the heads of the Japanese organizations JOGMEC and ITOCHU, Ichiro Takaharu and Jun Inomatu.
The discussion focused on expanding practical cooperation and implementing joint projects using advanced Japanese technologies.
High praise was given for the participation of JOGMEC together with ITOCHU Corporation in the development of uranium deposits in the Navoi and Kashkadarya regions. Plans for the extraction of precious metals at prospective sites across various regions of the country were also discussed.
Uzbekistan’s long-standing cooperation with ITOCHU Corporation in the fields of engineering, geology, and infrastructure was highlighted, with satisfaction expressed over the long-term agreements reached for the export of critical minerals to Japan.
Special attention was given to new areas of collaboration, including projects in water purification, automotive manufacturing, modernization of air traffic management systems, and public-private partnership initiatives in the social sector.
