Mirziyoyev Congratulates Matviyenko, Discusses Parliamentary Ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 7 April, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Valentina Matviyenko, Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

At the start of the conversation, the President of Uzbekistan congratulated Valentina Matviyenko on her birthday, wishing her good health, happiness, well-being, and great success.

The parties noted the active role of the parliaments of both countries in expanding and strengthening Uzbek-Russian relations, characterized by comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.

It was highlighted that the upper chambers’ Cooperation Commission meets annually, and collaboration within the framework of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly is developing effectively and productively.

At the conclusion of the conversation, the President of Uzbekistan reaffirmed support for further development of close and fruitful cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
