Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved the updated composition of the Uzbek side of the Foreign Investors Council. The corresponding presidential resolution, dated 18 July, has been published on the Lex.uz portal.

Some of the changes in composition are due to reshuffles in key government positions. For instance, Timur Ishmetov has been appointed Chairman of the Central Bank, replacing Mamarizo Nurmuratov, while Bakhtiyor Saidov has taken over as Minister of Foreign Affairs from Abdulaziz Kamilov.

New members of the council include Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojayev, Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Minister of Digital Development Sherzod Shermatov, Chairman of the State Tax Committee Sherzod Kudbiev, and Executive Director of the Reconstruction and Development Fund Shukhrat Vafayev.

The Business Ombudsman has been replaced by his First Deputy, Jamshid Urunov. Also excluded from the council is Minister of Agriculture Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, who previously served as Minister of Innovative Development until October 2023.
