Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree “On Additional Measures to Enhance the Efficiency of Greenhouse Farms and Increase Export Volumes.”
The document is aimed at stimulating the development of greenhouse farming, expanding the export potential of fruit, vegetable, and food products, and leveraging new reserves and opportunities in the sector.
According to the decree, key target indicators for 2025–2027 have been set: by 2026, the volume of fruit, vegetable, and food product exports is planned to reach US$3.5 billion, and by 2027 — US$4 billion.
With guaranteed natural gas supply to greenhouse farms, fruit and vegetable production is expected to reach 620,000 tons in 2026 and 670,000 tons in 2027, while the share of exported products will increase from 30% to 70%. The decree also provides for planting fruit seedlings and vegetables on an additional 20,000 hectares in 2026 and 15,000 hectares in 2027.
To ensure uninterrupted operation of greenhouse farms, the decree introduces benefits: from January 1, 2026, to the end of 2028, the social tax rate will be set at 1%, and the deadline for payment of tax arrears existing as of 1 October 2025, is extended until the end of 2028 without interest accrual.
