Mirziyoyev and Tokayev visit textile plant in Bukhara
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Presidents of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Presidents of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited a leading textile enterprise in Bukhara as part of their joint program.
The leaders reviewed operations at the industrial site of the Nigora company, which has established a full-cycle production of competitive finished goods.
The US$35 million project was commissioned in August 2024 and has created 840 jobs, with women accounting for a significant share of the workforce.
Production lines supplied from Japan, Italy, Belgium, and Germany enable the enterprise to produce up to 20 million linear meters of fabric and around 1 million units of garments annually. The use of modern equipment ensures compliance with international standards and competitiveness in foreign markets.
During the visit, the presidents were shown samples of finished garments and fabrics. Products manufactured under the Shoyigul brand are mainly exported to Italy, Austria, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
It was noted that the company’s annual export volume reaches US$10 million. Management also presented plans to expand production, including the launch of new lines for synthetic and blended fabrics.
The heads of state gave a positive assessment of the company’s export strategy and its development prospects.
