Mirziyoyev and Tokayev visit Bukhara operations center
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the situational center of the Bukhara regional administration and reviewed its operations.
Uzbekistan is continuing to implement a new model of local public administration, which consolidates executive authorities within a unified administrative space. The approach is aimed at improving inter-agency coordination, accelerating decision-making, and enhancing responsiveness to public needs.
The new administrative center in Bukhara, which initially houses regional and city administrations as well as prosecutor’s office, internal affairs bodies, and other institutions, includes a modern situational center serving as an intellectual hub for regional governance.
The system collects, processes, and analyzes real-time data across key development areas, including socio-economic indicators, investment project implementation, infrastructure conditions, transport flows, public safety levels, and citizen complaints.
During the visit, Tokayev was presented with the center’s capabilities for comprehensive monitoring of local conditions, early identification of problem areas, assessment of institutional performance, and oversight of directive implementation. The introduction of digital tools was noted as improving governance quality and strengthening official accountability.
The leaders also reviewed working conditions for government employees in the new facility, which features modern office spaces, meeting halls, and advanced digital infrastructure.
During the visit, Tokayev was presented with copies of rare archival materials discovered in Uzbekistan. The documents, drawings, and photographs from the 1920s–1950s relate to the mausoleums of Khoja Ahmad Yasawi and Rabia Sultanbegim located in Turkestan.
As a gesture of respect for shared history and cultural heritage, copies of these materials were handed over to the Kazakh side. It was emphasized that the archival sources are of high historical and scientific value and had previously been only partially introduced into academic research.
