Mirziyoyev and Tokayev attend AI hackathon in Bukhara

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the National AI Hackathon held at the Bukhara Universal Sports Complex.

The event is part of Uzbekistan’s state policy to develop an artificial intelligence ecosystem, implemented on the initiative of the head of state.

During the visit, the leaders were presented with results of ongoing digitalization efforts and the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies. Demonstrations included key areas of digital transformation such as e-government systems, as well as solutions in transport, customs and tax administration, healthcare, social protection, energy, geology, construction, and agriculture.

It was noted that comprehensive digitalization of these sectors is aimed at improving the efficiency of public administration and enhancing the quality of public services for citizens.

The leaders were also introduced to the startup ecosystem of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. They met with representatives of emerging projects, including KPI-COM, OSON, DATOX, among others.

Information was presented on the activities of national and international accelerators, including UZUM, TBC Bank, Aloqa Bank, HUMO, and UZCARD.

The importance of further development of venture infrastructure and support for youth entrepreneurship was emphasized. Particular attention was given to achievements in the banking sector, including digital banking and modern payment solutions.

During an open dialogue, the presidents noted the high level of youth engagement, creativity, and practical application of artificial intelligence technologies.

At the end of the visit, the two leaders took a joint commemorative photo with hackathon participants and members of the startup community.
