Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In recent days, there have been reports on social networks and Internet sites that some foreign airlines will resume regular flights to Uzbekistan from 1 July 2020, and in this regard, the sale of airline tickets has begun. In this regard, the Ministry of Transport reports the following:
According to protocol No. 29 of a joint meeting of the Republican Crisis Control Commission and the Republican Special Commission on the preparation of a program of measures to prevent the entry and spread of coronavirus in the Republic of Uzbekistan from 14 June 020, it was noted that enhanced sanitary and hygienic control in the republic remains until 1 August. At the same time, all restrictive measures aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus infection, introduced by the decision of the Republican Special Commission during the period of enhanced sanitary and hygienic control, will be preserved.
In this regard, the Ministry of Transport sent notes to foreign aviation administrations stating that airlines have not yet been allowed to operate regular flights to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Currently, in accordance with Protocol No. 29 of the Republican Special Commission, work is underway to resume regular flights to countries with a stable sanitary and epidemiological situation and to reduce the incidence of coronavirus infection, dividing it into “green”, “yellow” and “red flights”.
Also, we would like to remind passengers that we did not buy tickets, relying on unconfirmed reports about the resumption of regular flights by various airlines to Uzbekistan.
Until the resumption of regular flights, only charter flights will be operated in accordance with the schedule approved by the Republican Special Commission.
The Republican Special Commission will decide on when exactly regular flights to the Republic of Uzbekistan will resume.
