Ministry of Labor and UNDP launch new applications, software

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Development Programme in Uzbekistan (UNDP) launched new applications and software products.

The joint project of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population and UNDP “Inclusive Employment and Social Partnership” developed and launched several applications and software products: Unified information system (UIS) “Labor Market”, Online job system and an Interactive map of social services in Uzbekistan.

UIS “Labor Market” is developed to automatize the activities of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population and its territorial branches in the area of employment and social protection, as well as to render information support and coordination of formulation of managerial decisions on employment issues.

Mr. Stefan Priesner, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan, stated that the UIS allows the Ministry to monitor the activities of 193the Centers for Employment Support and Social Protection and receive reports and statistical information on “real-time” mode.

Trainings in all regions of Uzbekistan were organized with UNDP support to formulate practical skills and competencies on UIS application for more than 500 specialists of the ministry and its regional branches, he said.

The main purpose of On-line job system is the placement and search of information on job vacancies and job seekers to strengthen the linkages between employers having vacancies and job-seekers.

Information about vacant and reserved (for vulnerable groups) jobs, as well as about job seekers gathered by Centers for Employment Support and Social Protection and placed in the UIS is displayed in the online system on “real time” mode. Information is updated on monthly basis and, currently the system contains information about over 74,000 vacancies and 43,000 resumes of job-seekers.

Moreover, any employer independently without involvement of the Centers for Employment Support and Social Protection can post information about vacancies while job seekers can contact the employer or the center to apply to the vacancies, including through sending their resumes.

Interactive Map of Social Services in Uzbekistan is a “quick find” system of contact information of organizations providing social services. The database of the interactive map includes information about all social services providers of the Ministry of labour and social protection of population.

In addition, the map includes information of over 400 NGO-based social services providers in the country, which were collected and analyzed by the Project together with the Independent Institute for Monitoring the Formation of Civil Society (NIMFOGO). The users can leave a comment on the activities of the organization and the quality of their services in the system.
