Ministry of Innovations hosts meeting to study the Korean experience to prevent explosions gas cylinders

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting with representatives of the Korean company SMC Co., Ltd was held at the Transport Infrastructure Development Department of the Ministry of Innovation Development of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the project of creating an auto cluster in Uzbekistan with test centers for gas equipment and vehicle inspection was discussed.

It is worth noting that in the Republic of Korea the last incident in the gas cylinders explosion was registered in August 2010. As a result of a number of measures taken, in particular, studying the experience of Germany, France, Italy and other countries, in the Republic of Korea, not a single incident has occurred so far.

SMC Co., Ltd proposed creation of a test center in Uzbekistan, which will be engaged in the inspection of gas equipment (300 laboratories) and technical inspection of vehicles (150 laboratories) in all areas of Uzbekistan, as well as the Center for Non-Destructive control on the basis of one of the educational institutions where modern IT technologies will be provided.

For the planned project, the Korean company is ready to invest US$50 million and cooperate in the form of a public-private partnership with direct financing from Korean financial institutions on mutually beneficial terms.

Considering the fact that incidents related to the explosion of vehicles with gas cylinders, and there are shortcomings in the system for ensuring the safe operation of vehicles with gas cylinders, have become frequent in Uzbekistan, a meeting with representatives of the industry will be held in the Ministry of Innovations in the near future to discuss the draft and sign an agreement of cooperation.
