Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Recently, the Tashkent State Dental Institute (TGSI) organized an international scientific and practical conference on the theme "The concept of adaptation of higher medical education in Uzbekistan and Russia during the COVID-19 pandemic." This was reported by the public relations department of the Ministry of Health.
Around the world, including in our country, active work is underway to modernize the higher education system, introduce modern forms and technologies of education, improve educational programs in training specialists, based on the real needs of socio-economic life during the pandemic.
The President of our country has identified the most important tasks for the integrated development of the higher education system. Like other universities of the republic, TGSI has established promising partnerships with leading foreign research and educational institutions, is widely introducing new pedagogical technologies, educational programs and teaching materials based on international educational standards, and is working to attract highly qualified foreign teachers and scientists.
It is worth noting that in the rating compiled by the State Inspectorate for Supervision of Education Quality, the Tashkent State Dental Institute took 8th place among all universities in the country. This is the highest result among medical schools.
From the 2019-2020 academic year, at the institute at all courses and faculties groups with the English language of instruction were created, world best practices in the training of medical students are introduced. Such steps in training highly qualified personnel will serve as an impetus for the withdrawal of our medicine and the provision of medical services to the population at a higher quality level. The number of international joint programs for double degrees in bachelor's degree has reached 4, master's degree - 9, clinical residency - 3 areas. For the first time among the higher educational institutions of our country in the Republic of Kazakhstan, a branch of the dental faculty was created.
As an example of the implementation of decrees and decrees of the President aimed at reforming the higher education system, the Tashkent State Dental Institute was one of the first in our country to receive international accreditation and an international certificate ISO 9001: 2015. This is one of the evidence that the educational process at the institute is conducted in accordance with international standards. Such a significant certificate will play an important role in future international rankings and increase its prestige abroad, as well as attract foreign students. The institute is currently in the process of being accredited by an independent European organization.
The TGSI recently organized as a logical continuation of these reforms of an international scientific-practical conference on the theme "The concept of adaptation of higher medical education in Uzbekistan and Russia during the COVID-19 pandemic" was attended by more than 10 leading specialists of universities of the two countries. Professors and teachers of higher education institutions of the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan participated in the conference as international experts on the exchange of experience in the field of medical higher education during a pandemic, the widespread introduction of new skills and the use of advanced educational technologies.
The event was dedicated to the important tasks facing the medical education of the two countries during the pandemic, the development of medical education in the 21st century: current problems, priorities, directions, problems and solutions, innovations in medical education, innovative solutions in dentistry, joint educational programs, lectures, discussions and exchange of views on important topics, such as the procedure and experience of implementation, adaptation of the medical higher education system to authoritative international requirements and international accreditation of directions.
