Ministry of Finance: No grounds for sharp rise in prices for liquefied and compressed gas at filling stations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan has threatened to take measures against gas stations for unjustified price increases due to the introduction of excise tax.
The ministry reminded that from January 1, 2019 Uzbekistan, instead of a tax on the consumption of gasoline, diesel fuel and gas, is introducing an excise tax, which is paid when selling gasoline, diesel fuel and gas to the final consumer.
The excise tax per 1 liter of gasoline will be 285 soums or 378,480 soums per 1 tonne, diesel fuel - 285 soums or 346,275 soums per 1 tonne, liquefied gas - 285 soums or 540,645 soums per 1 tonne.
Excise tax per 1 cubic meter of compressed gas will be 360 soums.
When selling gasoline, diesel fuel and liquefied gas through gas stations, the excise tax is calculated at the rate of 1 liter, in other cases - for 1 tonne.
The Ministry of Finance noted that the excise tax is higher for 55 soums than the current tax and there are no grounds for a sharp increase in prices for liquefied and compressed gas at gas stations.
The Ministry of Finance announced that it would take measures with respect to gas stations if facts of unreasonable price increases were detected.
