Ministry of Energy: Gas Supplies to Rise to 25.4 Billion Cubic Meters During Winter

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the 2025–2026 autumn-winter period, consumers in Uzbekistan will receive 25.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas, exceeding last season’s supply by 200 million cubic meters.

This was announced on 11 December by Minister of Energy Zhurabek Mirzamahmudov at a session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.

The Minister emphasized that one of the key priorities is the formation of reserves in underground gas storage facilities and ensuring their stable operation.

“This plan has been successfully implemented, and today both of our major gas supply systems — the Gazli and Khodjaabad UGS — are functioning steadily. Gas withdrawal is maintained at up to 42 million cubic meters per day,” Mirzamahmudov noted.

To ensure uninterrupted supply, emergency teams and necessary reserves have been established, and all systems are under constant monitoring.

The Minister also stated that 1.2 billion cubic meters more gas than last winter will be directed from storage to domestic consumption, enhancing the reliability of energy supply during peak demand periods.
