Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 29 January 2020, negotiations with the delegation of PJSC Gazprom headed by the Deputy Chairman Vitaly Markelov were held at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
During the meeting, the course of earlier agreements reached by Uzbekneftegaz and PJSC Gazprom on joint oil and gas projects was discussed, including the implementation of the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the development of the Jel field in the Ustyurt region of the Republic of Uzbekistan under the terms of the Production Sharing Agreement”.
As part of PP-4376, in September 2019, the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the development of the “Jel Field Development Project under the PSA terms” was agreed, then UzLITIneftgaz JSC developed this project and a meeting of the Branch Scientific and Technical Council (ONTS) was held on 14 January 2020 at Uzbekneftegaz to review the technical specifications for the feasibility study of the project.
As was noted during the meeting by the Uzbek side, Gazprom’s specialists studied geological materials in 5 blocks, including: Chegara-Tagmansky, Chinabad, Uzunkuinsky, Kossorsky, as well as the Bukhara-Khiva region for 2 years. At present, Gazprom is expected to accelerate corporate decision-making on these issues in order to conduct work in accordance with a mutually agreed schedule.
Gratitude was also expressed to PJSC Gazprom for successful cooperation in the field of exchange of experience, training and advanced training. It was noted that 78 specialists from Uzbekistan were trained at the courses organized by PJSC Gazprom, and work is underway to plan such courses for 2020.
The importance of cooperation in the areas of standardization and conformity assessment was emphasized, in particular, the elaboration of a Memorandum between Uzbekneftegas JSC and Gazprom PJSC on cooperation in the areas of technological development, standardization as part of conformity assessment work in the INTERGAZSERT voluntary certification system.
During the meeting, the Russian side noted their interest in continuing to conduct geological exploration with 2 and 3D studies at the Bukhara-Khiva investment block.
The parties also discussed such promising areas of cooperation as the development of gas mains. The Russian side was informed about the main directions of reforming the oil and gas industry of Uzbekistan and major projects implemented in this area.
