Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In each of the makhallas in Sardoba, Akaltin and Mirzaabad districts of Syrdarya region, headquarters for providing employment to the population were created. This was reported by the information service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction
Officials from the relevant ministries and departments were attached to these headquarters. A list of unemployed persons from 11 affected mahallas was formed, consisting of 4,325 citizens. To date, 1,716 of them have been provided with employment. Also, practical measures are being taken to ensure the employment of the remaining 2,609 citizens.
According to the list, 3,765 citizens with work experience in the construction industry were registered, in particular 551 master concrete workers, 337 bricklayers, 359 stucco workers, 93 drywall masters, 40 electricians, 58 welders, 34 plumbers and 2,293 other specialists.
1,482 citizens were involved in public works, including 979 in landscaping of construction sites, 117 in landscaping of cemeteries, public workers in a special group (additional workers involved in damaged houses), 246 in sidewalk construction in the territories adjacent to the houses and 24 in other directions.
234 citizens who arrived from other regions were officially hired by construction contractors under labor contracts, including 39 concrete masters, 21 bricklayers, 21 plasterers, 2 welders, 151 as assistant craftsmen and other specialists.
