Ministry of Construction comments on temporary testrictions to Tashkent master plan map
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The release of a link to the interactive map of Tashkent’s approved master plan through 2045 sparked intense discussion on social media.
Although the map was posted on the official website of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, the ministry had not officially announced its launch.
Information about the map first appeared in several Telegram channels, where users took note of the zones marked for conservation, reconstruction, and renovation as outlined in the master plan. In some districts, height restrictions for new buildings were also indicated.
Following the public release of the map, users began actively discussing the potential consequences of the plan’s implementation.
Many speculated about which homes might be demolished, where new construction was expected, and in which areas the expansion of the road network could affect existing residential buildings.
However, shortly after the map became publicly accessible, access to the page was restricted, sparking rumors that the document had been removed from the official website.
In response, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services issued a clarification, assuring the public that the map had not been deliberately hidden.
The ministry’s press service explained that technical issues accessing the master plan map were due to a sudden surge in web traffic. According to ministry representatives, these problems will be resolved shortly.
The master plan for the capital’s development through 2045 (with the first implementation phase set through 2030) was officially approved by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 24 December last year.
