Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Alisher Shukurov, met with a delegation from Valmont Irrigation, led by Commercial Director for the CIS and Türkiye, Sergey Stefanov.
Valmont Irrigation is a global leader in implementing water-saving and mechanized technologies.
The discussions focused on the rational use of water resources and the widespread adoption of modern water-saving technologies. Participants emphasized that water scarcity is a pressing global issue for agriculture and is especially critical for Uzbekistan, where water availability directly affects crop yields and product quality.
At the start of the meeting, Alisher Shukurov stressed that implementing modern water-saving technologies is vital for the country’s agricultural sector, and every initiative in this direction will receive government support.
Valmont representatives presented their proposals, highlighting that a new era in water management is beginning. According to them, “smart” systems and intelligent machinery allow farmers to control irrigation not only directly in the field but also remotely, increasing productivity, conserving resources, and improving crop yields.
Shukurov assured that the Ministry of Agriculture would provide full support within its authority for these initiatives. By the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to further develop cooperation and implement concrete joint projects.
