Ministers of Energy and Water Resources of Central Asian Countries Discuss Grid Coordination

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 February, Tashkent hosted a regular working meeting of the ministers of energy and water resources of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.

The talks were attended by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Energy Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Minister of Water Resources Shavkat Khamraev, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy Erlan Akkenzhenov, and Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma.

The meeting was also attended by senior executives and responsible specialists from energy companies of the four countries.

Participants emphasized that multilateral cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, initiated in recent years by the presidents of the friendly states, is developing in a consistent and effective manner.

The discussions focused on ensuring the safe passage of the autumn–winter period, maintaining stable and uninterrupted operation of water and energy systems during the vegetation season, and exploring ways to further deepen cooperation among the countries.

The parties agreed on schedules for grid operating regimes and identified key areas for joint work.
