Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade receives Ambassador of Japan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 September, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan, Yoshinori Fujiyamu, during which issues and prospects of intensifying trade and economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
It was noted that at present there is considerable untapped potential for expanding mutually beneficial partnerships, bearing in mind the implementation of joint investment projects and increasing commodity circulation in terms of commodity positions demanded in the markets of both countries, which creates the prerequisites for the beginning of a new stage in the development of bilateral relations.
During the dialogue, the need to develop a fundamentally new systematic approach to preparing promising project proposals based on the real state of the economic situation in Uzbekistan, taking into account the existing potential of certain sectors of the republic and the interests of Japanese companies, with the involvement of recognized international experts and consultants, was emphasized.
The Japanese side expressed readiness in close and continuous cooperation with the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade to jointly analyze and promote specific proposals and initiatives, and to establish close ties between the relevant ministries and sectoral departments of Uzbekistan with Japanese entrepreneurs.
