Minister of Health of Uzbekistan meets with US physician Zholdas Kulzhonov

The Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Alisher Shadmanov, met with the famous specialist, our compatriot Zholdas Kulzhonov, who is the head of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery of St. Louis University - one of the foremost clinics in the United States.
During the conversation, it was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States is developing, especially the recent historic visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States opened a new page in relations between the two countries.
The American doctor spoke about the attention paid by the head of state to the sphere of medicine, in particular, wise policy towards the approach of specialized medical care to the population. They recalled that in early 2017 the President gave an instruction to return to the country of qualified doctors working abroad. Thanks to the measures implemented by the Ministry of Health, about one hundred medical specialists have returned to Uzbekistan.
Kuljonov expressed his readiness to give a satisfactory answer to the call of the head of state, to be involved in wide-scale reforms implemented with the healthcare system, relying on his own knowledge and experience, to contribute to the development of the country’s medicine.
