Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 July at 11:16, the Tashkent Regional Department for Emergency Situations received a report of a wildfire involving dry grass and branches across approximately 2 hectares in the mountainous area of the “Khujakent” mahalla, Bostanlyk District.

Fire and rescue teams from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, along with personnel from relevant organizations, arrived on site at 11:30 and promptly cordoned off the affected area.

Intensive firefighting operations are currently underway, with sufficient resources and personnel mobilized to contain the blaze.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan is assisting in extinguishing the wildfire. Military helicopters — Airbus Helicopters H215M and H125 — have been deployed to the mountainous terrain of Bostanlyk as part of the response.

Equipped with Bambi Bucket systems, the helicopters are collecting water and delivering targeted support to suppress the fire hotspots.
