Mikhail Skorokhod presented to the President of Uzbekistan cluster of building materials production

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the visit of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Akhangaran, Tashkent region, President of EUROCEMENT group Mikhail Skorokhod presented to the head of state development plans of “Akhangarancement”, on the basis of which a cluster of new construction materials and energy efficient plant with a capacity of 3 million tons of cement per year will be created.

The construction of the new plant was the result of agreements signed in Moscow and Tashkent in 2017 in the presence of the heads of state and prime ministers of Russia and Uzbekistan, and became part of a large project to create a cluster of building materials production.

The important advantages of the cluster approach are lower cost and the ability to create typical solutions for the high rates of construction that are observed in Uzbekistan. "Akhangarancement" offers the widest range of products for housing and infrastructure construction.

“The result of the cluster will be a production complex with an annual capacity of 5 million tons of cement, 144 thousand cubic meters of ready-mixed concrete, 30 thousand cubic meters of concrete products, as well as other products. The company will make a significant contribution to providing the Republic of Uzbekistan with building materials for the implementation of the most important infrastructure projects, the construction of comfortable and practical housing, and will help to meet the growing public demand for real estate, ”said the President of EUROCEMENT group.

Mikhail Skorokhod thanked the President of Uzbekistan and the Cabinet of Ministers for supporting the project, which has become an important part of bilateral cooperation. The project is included in the List of promising projects under the Economic Cooperation Program between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2019-2024. The project implementation is controlled by the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, and relevant government committees and departments.

The total investment of EUROCEMENT group in the creation of the cluster is 200 million US dollars, more than 100 million US dollars have already been invested. The cement plant in Akhangaran will be the largest equipment in Central Asia, a modern enterprise with high automation of production, low energy consumption and minimal environmental impact.
