Methane Refueling Stations in Uzbekistan to Operate on a Six-Hour Schedule on 23 December
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Compressed natural gas filling stations (CNG stations) in Uzbekistan will continue operating in regular mode on 23 December, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported.
According to the ministry, on Tuesday methane refueling stations across the country will be open for six hours, from 10:00 to 16:00, the same schedule that was in effect the previous day.
In the Fergana Valley, the operating schedule for CNG stations will be determined individually, in coordination with regional hokimiyats and taking into account the gas pressure levels in the system.
The Ministry of Energy explained that under conditions of reduced pressure, priority is given to supplying natural gas to households, public transport, and social infrastructure facilities.
“Based on the overall gas supply situation, pressure levels, and consumption volumes, the operating schedule of methane refueling stations will be coordinated with local hokimiyats. This is necessary for the rational use of gas resources and the stable supply of all sectors,” the ministry stated.
Nationwide restrictions on the operation of CNG stations were introduced on December 11. At that time, the Ministry of Energy reported a reduction in gas imports due to a malfunction in Turkmenistan’s gas transport system and emphasized the temporary nature of the measures.
Earlier, Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamahmudov noted that the incident caused a daily gas deficit of about 6 million cubic meters. To mitigate the situation in the Fergana Valley, mobile gas filling stations are planned to be deployed to serve facilities during the closure periods of stationary methane refueling stations.
