Memorandum of cooperation on the development of ICT in the field of transport security was signed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan on 1 October hosted the fourth meeting of the Uzbek-Russian Business Council in Tashkent with the participation of its permanent members from the Uzbek and Russian sides.

During the event, information was presented to representatives of business circles of the two countries on measures taken in Uzbekistan to simplify customs procedures between the two countries, including the introduction of a “simplified customs corridor” mechanism for the import and export of goods.

Along with this, the parties made speeches on the trade, economic and investment potential of the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia, indicating the most promising areas of bilateral cooperation, the possibility of Russian enterprises implementing investment projects to modernize the production and transport and communication infrastructure of Uzbekistan.

During his speech, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov called on all participants to take an active part in the discussion of joint projects and offer their proposals and visions on the development of the Uzbek-Russian trade and economic cooperation.

“Over the past 2 years, we have significantly intensified the activities of the Russian-Uzbek Business Council, in the framework of which visits were organized and Uzbek-Russian meetings and events were signed with the signing of dozens of agreements and contracts. For 2018-2019, 26 visits were successfully organized at various levels, which allowed us to bring cooperation between the regions of our countries to an unprecedentedly high level,” the head of the CCI Adham Ikramov said.

The meeting also presented the main promising sectors of the Uzbek economy. The Russian side was also familiarized with the results of the economic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, created favorable conditions for investing and doing business in the republic.

Further directions and steps to establish and expand the Uzbek-Russian cooperation in the trade, economic and investment fields were discussed.

As a result of the events, concrete agreements were reached between the business circles of the two countries and bilateral documents were signed.

In particular, the Memorandum of Cooperation between GLONAS JSC (RF) and SMARTGEO LLC (RU) on the development of information and communication technologies in the field of transport security;

The action plan to increase the supply of fruits and vegetables of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation, as well as the final protocol of the 4th meeting of the Uzbek-Russian and Russian-Uzbek Business Councils.
