Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 June 2021, the Deputy Chairman of the State Industrial Safety Committee - Head of the Department for Radiation and Nuclear Safety I. Tashkentbaev met with Deputy Director General of the IAEA - Head of the Department of Nuclear Energy Mr. M. Chudakov.

During the meeting, M. Chudakov was familiarized with the work done in the development of the infrastructure for regulating the safety of the use of atomic energy.

Mr. Chudakov noted the importance of the role of the State Industrial Safety Committee - the body of state regulation of the safety of atomic energy use, in ensuring radiation and nuclear safety, training highly qualified personnel for it, as well as close interaction with the Uzatom Agency and similar bodies of foreign countries.

He expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and informed about the readiness of the IAEA to assist the Republic of Uzbekistan in the development of nuclear infrastructure.
