Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 29 September, Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, held a meeting with Walid Fouk, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uzbekistan, who recently began his diplomatic mission.

During the conversation, the Chairwoman of the Senate congratulated the ambassador on the start of his mission and expressed confidence that his professional experience would contribute to the further strengthening of Uzbek-French relations.

The parties noted that in recent years bilateral ties have reached the level of strategic partnership, supported by regular high-level visits and the signing of agreements covering a wide range of areas, including the economy, investment, education, and culture.

Special attention during the meeting was given to the development of interparliamentary cooperation. It was emphasized that interaction between the parliaments of the two countries is constructive and strengthened through bilateral visits and participation of parliamentarians in international forums.

In this context, the importance of intensifying dialogue between relevant committees and interparliamentary “friendship groups” was highlighted.
