Meeting Held in the Senate with the Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 29 September, Sodik Safoev, First Deputy Chair of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, held a meeting with Takashi Hatori, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan, who is concluding his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.

During the discussion, the parties particularly emphasized the consistent and steady development of the traditionally friendly relations and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan. Japan was recognized as one of Uzbekistan’s key political, economic, and investment partners in the Asia-Pacific region.

The meeting addressed the further expansion of bilateral cooperation in economic, investment, scientific-technical, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Special attention was given to strengthening multifaceted ties through active interparliamentary interaction and effective use of parliamentary diplomacy.

The parties proposed measures to intensify the activities of interparliamentary friendship groups, organize reciprocal visits, and exchange legislative expertise.

Additionally, agreements were reached between business communities and major companies to support ongoing investment projects, as well as to develop and implement practical programs for their advancement.

The meeting also covered joint initiatives in education, science, and culture, including promoting programs for human capital development and expanding opportunities for mutual exchange.
