Meeting Held in Bishkek Between Head of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade and ADB President
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Laziz Kudratov, Head of the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, met with Masato Kanda, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), on the sidelines of the 24th CAREC Ministerial Conference in Bishkek.
The parties discussed the current state of cooperation and marked the 30th anniversary of the partnership, during which major projects in energy, water supply, transport, education, and social infrastructure have been implemented.
It was noted that Uzbekistan remains ADB’s largest partner in Central Asia. The total cooperation portfolio exceeds US$15 billion, with 65 projects worth US$10 billion already successfully completed, 30 projects valued at US$5 billion under implementation, and 21 projects worth US$3.1 billion prepared for launch.
The meeting also addressed preparations for the 59th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors, scheduled for May 2026 in Samarkand. Both sides agreed to intensify joint work and develop a coordinated action plan to ensure a high standard of organization for the forum.
Special attention was given to the formation of a new Partnership Program through 2030, encompassing projects in infrastructure, public-private partnerships, business and export support, and development of social sectors and financial markets.
The parties confirmed their readiness to expand cooperation and enhance the impact of ADB projects on Uzbekistan’s sustainable development.
