Mechanisms for Expanding Private Sector Participation in Sports Development Discussed at Uzbekistan’s NOC
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A working meeting was held at the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Uzbekistan with the participation of leadership and key representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Sports, the NOC, and the Uzbekistan Football Association.
The event focused on actively involving the private sector in the sports industry, introducing modern management mechanisms, and fostering a competitive environment.
During the meeting, participants reviewed priority areas for the systematic development of sports, effective use of financial resources with private capital involvement, and state support measures for entrepreneurs implementing sponsorship initiatives.
Discussions also addressed the provision of incentive benefits and the expansion of business involvement in the activities of executive bodies of sports federations. Special attention was given to funding the operations of sports federations, associations, and national teams in 2026.
Participants emphasized the need to further improve training processes and create sustainable conditions for high-quality athlete preparation for international competitions.
The meeting concluded with agreements to expand the role of the private sector in sports development, establish a modern management system and competitive environment, ensure targeted and transparent use of funds allocated to the sports sector, and strengthen interagency cooperation.
