Measures adopted on organization of activities of the Center for innovative methods of teaching foreign languages

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On measures on organization of the activities of the Republican scientific-practical center for developing innovative methods of education of foreign languages under the Uzbek State University of the World Languages” on 17 December 2013.

The document is directed at effective organization of activities of the Republican scientific-practical center for developing innovative methods of education of foreign languages under the Uzbek State University of the World Languages.

The resolution said that Republican scientific-practical center for developing innovative methods of education of foreign languages under the Uzbek State University of the World Languages was created in Uzbekistan.

The main tasks of the Center are to hold scientific research directed at developing and introducing innovative methods of teaching foreign languages in all types of education, improving normative documents in teaching languages, providing methodical manuals for higher educational establishments, which carry out teachers and specialists of foreign languages, training and re-training pedagogical cadres, etc.

The center will also form and introduce national system of assessment and certification of the level of knowledge, create conditions for testing and certifying level of foreign language knowledge of students, teachers and other interested persons.

The center will develop and introduce interactive products for studying foreign languages, media products, special web-projects, directed at popularizing foreign languages among population. It will also test curriculums, manuals and books on foreign languages with attraction of foreign consultants, etc.

The Government entrusted the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Uzbek State University of World Languages till 1 January 2014 to hire specialists, especially with foreign education and experience in development of multimedia products, to the center.

The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan also will attract international experts and consultants to the work of the Center in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan will also work on equipping the center with computers, modern multimedia products, furniture and tools due to resources of the Fund for developing higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan.

The Cabinet of Ministers entrusted the Ministry of Public Education and Center for secondary special and professional education of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan to attract the Center and its specialists to develop and test educational manuals.

The center will also train and re-train teachers of foreign languages of the higher educational establishments.

The resolution said that the activities of the center will be financed due to the state budget, grant resources, donations, grants and international organizations, etc.

The Government recommended higher educational institutions to attract specialists and experts of the Center to introduce modern form and methods of teaching foreign languages, advanced technologies of studying foreign languages.
