“Mard o‘g‘lon” award established in Uzbekistan
According to the document, the award “Mard o‘g‘lon” (Brave son” is awarded on the eve of the Day of Youth (30 June) to gifted young men at the age between 14 and 30, who serve as an example for peers with their academic achievements, social activity and talent, for special achievements in science, education, medicine , culture, literature, art, production, military service and law enforcement.
The Commission for State Awards and Heraldry under the President of Uzbekistan considers the candidates for the award. Candidatures are submitted by the Central Council of the Youth Union, as well as by the representations of the chairman of Zhokargy Kenes, regional hokims and the city of Tashkent, coordinated with the chairmen of the territorial councils of the Youth Union.
The head of Uzbekistan confers the award. The size of the award is 50 sizes of the minimum wage.
Also, the holders of the award are granted the right of preferential admission to the bachelor’s and master’s degrees without examinations on the grant basis.
