Mandatory Digital Labeling of Batteries Introduced in Uzbekistan from 1 January 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 January 2026, Uzbekistan will implement a mandatory requirement for the digital labeling of electric batteries classified under HS codes 8507102002 and 8507102003.

With the new regulations coming into force, manufacturers and importers of these products are required to register in the National Information System Asl Belgisi, equip their production processes with the necessary technical and other equipment, and obtain digital labeling codes for the batteries they produce or import.

At the same time, businesses engaged in retail trade of goods subject to digital labeling are obliged to use specialized devices for reading the codes, including 2D scanners or other equivalent technical means.

The authorities emphasize that tax incentives are provided for the acquisition of 2D scanners, aimed at reducing the financial burden on businesses during the implementation period of the mandatory digital labeling system.
