Manchester City Thrash Exeter City 10–1 in the FA Cup

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Manchester City recorded a resounding 10–1 victory over Exeter City in the FA Cup Round of 32, cruising comfortably into the next stage of the competition.

Goals for the reigning English champions were scored by Max Alleyne (12th minute), Rodri (24), Rico Lewis (49, 90+1), Antoine Semenyo (54), Tijjani Reijnders (71), Nico O’Reilly (79) and Ryan McAidoo (86). Exeter players Jake Doyle-Hayes and Jack Fitzwater also put the ball into their own net. The visitors’ lone goal came in the 90th minute through George Birch.

Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov started for Manchester City and played the full match, featuring at the heart of Pep Guardiola’s defence. His inclusion was part of a large-scale squad rotation employed by the coach for the cup tie.

City dominated the match from the opening minutes, controlling proceedings throughout and building an emphatic lead well before the interval. Exeter City, who compete in a lower division, were unable to withstand the sustained attacking pressure.
