Manchester City Rejects Offers for Khusanov Despite Interest from Lens and Liverpool

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — French club Lens and English side Liverpool have expressed interest in Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov, but Manchester City is currently unwilling to either loan or sell the player.

According to media reports, Lens President Joseph-Marie Ugurlian approached Manchester City’s management with a proposal to loan Khusanov for six months, aiming to strengthen the squad in the fight for the French championship against Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool, meanwhile, has also made an inquiry but received a refusal, with City emphasizing that Khusanov is part of their long-term plans.

Khusanov previously played for Lens from summer 2023 until the end of 2024, appearing in 31 matches and recording one assist.

In January 2025, the defender transferred to Manchester City for €40 million, signing a contract until summer 2029. In the current season, he has featured in eight matches for the English club.

Liverpool reportedly views Khusanov as a potential replacement for Ibrahima Konaté and is prepared to offer up to £47 million.

Despite this interest, Manchester City has no intention of letting the Uzbek defender leave and is not considering any transfer proposals at this time.
