Man Detained in Tashkent for Illegal Sale of Medicines
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During a joint operational check conducted by the Department under the Office of the Prosecutor General in the Uchtepa district and the customs service, a man, D.N., was detained on suspicion of illegally selling pharmaceutical products.
He was caught in the act attempting to sell nine types of foreign medications—totaling 542 packages worth US$6,400—to a citizen, B.S., without any permits. The entire batch was seized as evidence.
An examination by the Pharmaceutical Product Safety Center confirmed the absence of compliance certificates for the seized drugs and violations of storage conditions.
A criminal case has been initiated under the relevant article of the Criminal Code, and the investigation is ongoing.
