Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The report of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at a solemn meeting dedicated to the 27th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, caused a great resonance among the expert circles of Malaysia, Dunyo reports.
Senator, President of the Council of Malaysian Senators Dato Sri Hayruddin Samad noted that the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan is not only the foundation on which the entire legal framework of the state, the role and place of citizens, state and public bodies in the life and governance of the country are built, but also the relationship with the outside world.
“I cannot disagree with the statement of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev that the country faces many tasks that need to be addressed. In this regard, the initiative of the leadership of Uzbekistan to achieve genuine independence of the judiciary will serve to further strengthen the rule of law and, accordingly, the entire state system.
Thanks to the Constitution, at the dawn of its independence, Uzbekistan was able to strengthen and successfully develop its statehood. As a lawyer, I studied various models of government, like presidential, presidential-parliamentary or parliamentary. I believe that the formed and constantly improving model of government in Uzbekistan most adequately reflects the history, traditions and, above all, the interests of the people,” he emphasized.
Asmak Binti Husin, Member of the Senate of the Parliament of Malaysia, believes that in the life of any state, the Constitution plays a decisive role as the main legal regulator of the activities of the state and society.
“In the process of creating the norms of the Constitution of Uzbekistan, a spirit was absorbed in its provisions, which ensures the gradual formation of a democratic rule of law by deepening democratic reforms and enhancing the activities of civil society in the country. In achieving these goals, the implementation of the principle of ensuring guarantees of judicial protection of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens acts as the main factor,” the parliamentarian said.
She agrees with the opinion of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the need to further improve the legal culture in society. “Particular attention deserves the initiative of the Uzbek leadership to develop and implement a program to develop a legal culture for each area and direction, for all stages of education. Undoubtedly, these measures will contribute to improving the system of ensuring human rights, freedoms and interests, which already meets the highest and progressive international principles in this field,” A. Khusin said.
