Major number of complaints fall to share of communal services

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Committee of Uzbekistan on privatization, demonopolization and development of competition received 5,141 complaints from consumers, of which 3,335 complaints were received in written form and 1,806 – over phone.

In the result of studying complaints, about 92.5% of written complaints were solved in favour of consumers and they received 1.325 billion soums of compensations for not-rending and low quality services.

Corresponding measures were adopted on some 61.9% of complaints, received via phone, and the consumers received 328.9 million soums. The committee gave explanations on 38.1% complaints.

About 58% of complaint fell to share of communal services, 20.4% - trade and catering, 9.1% - transport, communication services and 12.6% - other spheres.

The committee said that it continued to receive consumers on issues related to gas and electricity supply. Some 7,732 consumers were received, including 5,049 consumers on issues related to gas supply, 2,558 – electricity supply and 117 – other communal services.

About 5,641 of them received information on their issues and the committee helped to solve problems of 1,757 consumers. They received 391.1 million soums of compensation, including 226.5 million soums for gas supply and 164.6 million soums for electricity supply.
