Lower house of parliaments discuss participation of NGOs in ecologic control
MPs of the Legislative Chamber, representatives of the NGOs, State Nature Protection Committee, ministries and departments participated in the event.
It was underlined that Uzbekistan pays great attention to protection of environment, preserve natural resources, upbringing youth in spirit of love to nature.
It was said that Uzbekistan created legislative base for participation of NGOs, self-governing bodies of the citizens and others in ecologic control.
Currently, there are over 7,000 NGOs operate in Uzbekistan and they widely attracted to improve work in healthcare, ecology, support of youth, etc. They help to improve work on rational use of natural resources and protection of ecology.
During the meeting, it was said that Uzbekistan increased number of MPs at Legislative Chamber from 120 to 150 and 15 seats are given to Ecologic Movement of Uzbekistan. This helps to solve actual ecologic issues at the level of the parliament.
The event considered issues of improving role of Ecologic Movement of Uzbekistan, NGOs and other civil society institute in conducting ecologic control.
