London Talks Open New Business Opportunities for Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A working meeting took place in London between Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and representatives of the British Chambers of Commerce, including Anna-Maria Martin, Director for International and Local Companies, and Strategy Manager Ben Martin.
The British Chambers of Commerce unites 50 regional organizations and includes over 50,000 companies, of which approximately 41,000 are small and medium-sized enterprises, and around 16,000 are large and multinational corporations.
During the talks, participants discussed Uzbekistan’s export potential and key rapidly growing sectors, including electrical engineering, textiles, food processing, jewelry manufacturing, and tourism, identified as priority areas for bilateral cooperation.
Mechanisms for Uzbek companies to access the UK market were also reviewed, along with business support tools and opportunities for establishing direct B2B connections. Uzbekistan’s delegation plans to participate in the British Chambers of Commerce annual conference in June, which is expected to create additional opportunities to strengthen business ties between the two countries’ entrepreneurs.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to expand cooperation, organize joint business missions, and support the entry of Uzbek companies into the UK market.
