"Localization Forum 2019" opened in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In order to deepen the level of localization in the automotive industry, as well as attract foreign investment in the economy of Uzbekistan and form close partnerships with investors, Uzavtosanoat holds a large-scale event called the Localization Forum 2019 on 24-26 September 2019.

Along with domestic enterprises, the Forum will bring together more than 50 companies from Brazil, India, China, the USA, France, South Korea and other countries, including Faurecia (France), Autoglass Corp - (South Korea), Yanfeng Adient (China), Spark Minda (India), Joyson Safety Systems (USA), and other major manufacturers of automotive components.

The strategic goal in the further development of the industry is to deepen the localization of all processes associated with industrial production. In this regard, the focus is on the development of local infrastructure for the production of automotive components.

At present, more than 240 manufacturers of component parts are involved in the automotive industry of the Republic. Only in the structure of Uzavtosanoat JSC there are more than 40 companies producing high-tech automotive components, automobiles, trucks, buses and other equipment.

The enterprises accumulated production experience and improved the production and quality management system. A striking example of the high potential of localization enterprises of Uzavtosanoat JSC is the supply of automotive components to conveyors of foreign automakers. So, a substantial list of automotive components is being delivered from Uzbekistan to conveyors of large manufacturers in 5 continents of the world. For example, in addition to deliveries of components for General Motors plants in various countries, domestic products are used in Lada, GAZ, UAZ cars, and since last year, Peugeot Citroën.

Today, Uzavtosanoat is:

more than 80 companies and 27 thousand employees;

annual turnover of about $ 4 billion;

high standards of production and management;

production of about 280 thousand automotive vehicles, and in the medium term - 360 thousand;

annual revenues to the budget of the Republic of at least 2 trillion soums in the form of tax and other payments.

As a result of the work, the average level of localization in cars has long exceeded 50%. A further medium-term goal is to achieve a localization level of 70%.

To this end, during the Localization Forum 2019, it is planned to discuss the organization of production of new types of automotive components in the Republic of Uzbekistan, expanding existing capacities and attracting additional investment in the automotive industry as a whole.

In addition, the Forum program includes visits to manufacturing enterprises of the automotive industry in Tashkent, Fergana, Andijan and Asaka. Following the results of the Forum, on September 26, the agreements reached will be secured by the signing of memoranda with a number of foreign companies.
