Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 29 January, a working meeting took place between the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Qo‘chqorov, and Sezai Bayaksiz, founder of one of Türkiye’s leading companies, Limak.

The discussions focused on the prospects for implementing investment projects in Uzbekistan, particularly in the energy sector and the development of transport infrastructure. Special attention was given to the construction of hydropower plants under public-private partnership arrangements, as well as opportunities for the joint development of the necessary project documentation.

It was noted that Limak has successfully constructed ten hydropower plants in Türkiye, and that this experience could be effectively applied in Uzbekistan.

The parties also discussed promising projects for the modernization and management of one of Uzbekistan’s international airports with the involvement of Limak. It was emphasized that the company has substantial experience managing airports through public-private partnerships in Kuwait, Senegal, and Kosovo.

During the meeting, Limak’s global presence was highlighted: the company’s annual turnover reaches US$4.1 billion, it ranks first in Türkiye’s construction sector, and is among the twenty largest construction companies in the world.

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides expressed their readiness to expand mutually beneficial cooperation, continue practical negotiations on specific projects, and develop a long-term partnership between Uzbekistan and Limak.
