MPs and Senators, Human Rights Commissionaire, representatives of ministries, institutes and universities participated at the event.
At the event, the participants discussed actual problems of parliamentary control in Uzbekistan and abroad, main forms and methods of parliamentary control, perspectives of further improving legal foundation for parliamentary control, etc.
Uzbekistan pays great attention to forming and developing system of parliamentary control over activities of the executive power. The Constitution of Uzbekistan sets rights of the parliament to conduct parliamentary control.
It was said that launching of two chamber parliament and increasing role of parties in it raised parliamentary control to new level. It was underlined that the discussion of activities of the executive power bodies allowed to improve their work.
The conference considered a draft law “On parliamentary control in Uzbekistan”, implementation of advanced experience and practice in parliamentary control of foreign states in Uzbekistan, etc.
The conference developed proposals and recommendations directed at further improving system of parliamentary control in Uzbekistan, introduction of new forms and methods of parliamentary control, development of legal framework for parliamentary control in the country.
