Legislative Chamber holds seminar dedicate the Year of Healthy Children

The seminar was organized by the Committee of the Legislative Chamber on ecology and environment protection and the MPs Group from Ecologic Movement of Uzbekistan, the press service of the lower house of the Uzbek parliament said.

MPs, representatives of ministries and departments, Office of Central Council of Ecologic Movement of Uzbekistan, experts and other organizations participated at the event.

It was noted that 2014 was announced as the Year of Healthy Children in Uzbekistan on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. In this connection, the priority tasks were determined, which include promotion of healthy lifestyle, protection of maternity and childhood, further improving system of healthcare, improve role of families and mahallas in public life, etc.

It was underlined that it is necessary to create favourable ecologic and environment conditions for healthy development of healthy generation. So, the parliament should improve legislative base and control over execution of adopted laws on ecology in places.

MPs discussed a concrete proposals and recommendations directed at effective realization of the law "On ecologic expertise", recently adopted by Oliy Majlis.

The participants underlined the country should further improve legislation on environment protection to ensure protection of ecology, and rational use of natural resources.

The participants underlined that it is necessary to improve mechanism of implementation of ecologic legislation and realization of international norms in environment protection, rational use of natural resources, etc.

The participants adopted corresponding recommendations at the end of the seminar.
