Legislative Chamber discusses improvement legislative base for social partnership
The roundtable was organized by the Committee of the Legislative Chamber on democratic institutes, NGOs and self-governing bodies in cooperation with parliamentary faction of Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Milliy Tiklanish, the press service of the lower house of the Uzbek parliament said.
The meeting was aimed at discussing a role and importance of the law “On social partnership”, which is currently in process of adoption in Uzbekistan, in formation of civil society and deepening democratic reforms. The draft law was passed in the first reading by the Legislative Chamber in March 2014.
The document is directed at developing civil society institutes, strengthening their role in transparency and efficiency of reforms, improving organizational-legal mechanisms of interaction of NGOs and other civil society institutes with the state bodies in implementation of social-economic development programmes, solving humanitarian problems, protection of rights and interests of the population.
It was noted that adoption of the law “On social partnership” will help for further boosting of activities of the NGOs in process of modernizations and reforming the country.
The draft law determines state policy in social partnership, regulates rights and obligations of the subjects of social partnership, forms of their social-economic support and interaction. This will help to implementation of large number of social projects in Uzbekistan.
The roundtable participants expressed several proposals and recommendations on further improving the draft law “On social partnership”.
